There are many benefits to outsourcing software development, particularly using the ‘nearshore’ model.  In this blog post, we will be discussing the benefits of the proximity of Mexico to the United States, compared to many other offshore locations (i.e. India, China, Romania, etc)….

Which flight would you rather be on? Better yet, which flight would you rather send one of your prized resources on?  A 3 hour flight to Mexico, or an 18 hour flight to India?

With Mexico so close, there are frequent flights throughout the day, and they also come at about ¼ the cost.

So, what’s the benefit of having easy-access to your nearshore software development partner?  Collaboration.  Nothing beats face-to-face collaboration.  There are many times when it makes sense and is important to work face-to-face with our partners.  Some obvious examples are project kick-off meetings, strategizing on project plans to meet crucial deadlines, and of course to celebrate a successful project finish and plan the next.

But oftentimes our clients just want to get to know the engineers that are 100% dedicated to their project.  Because of the similar culture and work ethic, our teams become a natural extension of our clients’ teams and our clients want to nurture that productive and fruitful relationship.  Having close proximity makes it easy to jump on a flight and for a one-day meeting and be home the next day.

We are convinced this has immeasurable value, and our clients are too!
